Preliminary study on early warning value and mechanism of interleukin-1β in extremely severe oral and maxillofacial space infections by ZHU Hanyi, SHI Huan, YU Chuangqi, ZHENG Lingyan

    Published 2025-06-01
“…Objective·To investigate the role of interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in predicting the severity of oral and maxillofacial space infection (OMSI), and to explore the key mechanisms regulating IL-1β release, the critical immune cell subpopulations involved, and the intercellular communication networks among immune cells in OMSI patients. Methods·A total of 62 OMSI patients admitted to the Department of Oral Surgery, Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, from January to November 2023 were enrolled, including 20 patients with moderate infection, 21 with severe infection, and 21 with extremely severe infection. Logistic regression analysis was performed to identify risk factors for extremely severe infection, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were constructed to evaluate the ability of the above indicators to predict extremely severe infection. …”

Correlation between mean platelet volume and glomerular filtration rate in patients with early diabetic kidney disease by LIU Jing-qin, FENG Ran, QIAN Lin, LI Yan, YU Yang, CUI Bo-kun, WEI Wei

    Published 2020-01-01
“…Objective To explore the correlation between mean platelet volume(MPV) and glomerular filtration rate(eGFR) in patients with early diabetic nephropathy,in order to lay basis for prevention and treatment of early diabetic kidney disease(DKD).Methods A total of 327 patients with type 2 diabetes who hospitalized in the First Hospital of Baoding from January 2016 to January 2019 were selected as the subjects. They were divided into 2 groups according to the urinary microalbumin/creatinine ratio(ACR):the normal albumin group(NA group,n=237)(ACR<30 mg/g),microalbuminuria group(MIA group,n=90)(ACR 31~300 mg/g),and 90 healthy adults who conducted physical examinations in our hospital in the same period were selected to be control group. The following indices were detected:platelet count(PLT),mean platelet volume(MPV),platelet distribution width(PDW),fasting pasma glucose(FPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1 c),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),uric acid(UA),hyper-sensitive-C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),serum creatinine(Cr),and eGRF.SPSS21.0 statistical software was adopted to conduct t test and variance analysis.Pearson correlation analysis was used, and multi-variate Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors. Results The levels of MPV in the NA group and MIA group were much higher than those in control group(P<0.05),and the MPV level in the MIA group was significantly higher than that in the NA group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).MPV was positively correlated with HbA1 c,TC,TG,SUA,SCr,ACR and hs-CRP(P<0.05).MPV was negatively correlated with eFGR and HDL-C levels(P< 0.05).Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that HbA1 c,MPV and ACR were independent risk factors for early diabetic kidney disease in patients with T2 DM(P< 0.05). …”
