Role of follicle-stimulating hormone receptor polymorphism in predicting ovarian response to letrozole in women with polycystic ovary syndrome during ovulation induction by Xiuxian Zhu, Xiuxian Zhu, Xiuxian Zhu, Qiaoling Wang, Qiaoling Wang, Jingwen Lang, Jingwen Lang, Yunqing Zhi, Yunqing Zhi, Yonglun Fu, Yonglun Fu, Shihua Bao, Shihua Bao

    Published 2025-06-01
“…Participants with either the Asn/Asn or Thr/Thr polymorphism were more likely to exhibit resistance to letrozole. Logistic regression analysis indicated that the Asn/Asn polymorphism was a potential risk factor for letrozole resistance [OR: 5.227 (95% CI, 0.994-27.490), P = 0.051], while the Thr/Thr polymorphism significantly influenced letrozole response [OR: 7.04 (95% CI, 1.394-35.559), P = 0.018].ConclusionsThe Asn/Asn polymorphism at position 680 and the Thr/Thr polymorphism at position 307 of the FSHR gene may serve as potential predictors of ovulatory failure during letrozole therapy in PCOS patients.…”

C-reactive protein is a more valuable marker in predicting the severity of complications in measles-affected children compared to blood cells count-derived inflammatory indices by Stojiljković Marija, Miljković Mirjana

    Published 2023-01-01
“…In severely complicated measles form, significantly higher values of granulocytes, CRP, GLR, and PLR were documented, including lower lymphocytes (p ˂ 0.05). A linear regression analysis showed that CRP was the only indicator with predictive significance for the severity of the course of measles. …”

Association between blood trace elements and degrees of chronic kidney disease-associated pruritus in maintenance hemodialysis patients by Bao Min-rui, Liu Yun, Xu Shi-lin, Tan Rong-shao, Zou De-’e, Liang Wei-feng, Li Shu-ting, Chen Wen-xuan, Liu Yan, Zhong Xiao-shi

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Objective To explore the relationship between blood trace elements and degrees of chronic kidney disease-related pruritus(CKD-aP)in maintenance hemodialysis(MHD)patients. Methods For this single-center and cross-sectional study, 121 patients receiving regulartreated at our blood purification center in September 2019 were enrolled.Their demographic, laboratory and clinical parameters were recorded and the blood levels of manganese, zinc, copper, selenium and lead were measured before dialysis. The degrees of CKD-aP were evaluated by Dirk R Kuypers scoring. They were divided into four groups of non-pruritus, mild/moderate/severe pruritus. The clinical characteristics of each group were analyzed.Multivariate ordinal Logistic regression was employed for analyzing the associations between the degrees of CKD-aP and blood levels of various elements. Results A total of 121 patients were enrolled, including 45 patients without pruritus was none(n=45),mild(n=59),moderate(n=12)and severe(n=5).The proportion of male was higher than that of female in mild/severe pruritus group and the proportion of female higher than that of malein moderate pruritus group(P<0.05).The greater degree of pruritus, the higher level of C-reactive protein(P<0.05).Although the levels of blood trace elements showed no statistical significance among four groups.Univariate analysis revealed that blood manganese was correlated with a higher pruritus degree whereas other trace elements had no correlation with pruritus degree. After adjusting various confounding factors, multivariate ordinal Logistic regression analysis indicated that a lower blood level of manganese was independently associated with a greater degree of CKD-aP in MHD patients(P<0.05).Conclusion A low blood level of manganese may play an important role in CKD-aP in MHD patients.…”
