Study on the Tribological Properties of Fe-20Cu Based Self-Lubricating Friction Materials by FU Chuan-qi, XIANG Yong-kuang, WANG Zhou, YANG Zi-jian, GAO Yue, XING Cang-long

Published 2021-01-01
“…In order to explore the effect of the dual lubrication component G-MoS2(G represents graphite)on the structure and properties of Fe-20Cu-based self-lubricating friction materials, Fe-20Cu-based self-lubricating friction materials were prepared by powder metallurgy hot pressing method, which were studied by scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction characterization and tribological performance test analysis. Results showed that in the Fe-20Cu-based self-lubricating friction material, with the increase of G-MoS2 content, the hardness and compressive strength of the friction material increased first and then decreased. When 3%(mass fraction, below the same)G-3% MoS2 was added, the hardness and compressive strength of the friction material were the highest, 81HB and 350 MPa, respectively. In addition, as the content of G-MoS2 increased, the friction coefficient and wear rate of the friction material decreased first and then increased. When 3% G-3% MoS2 was added, the friction coefficient and wear rate of the friction material were the lowest, 0.472 and 9.80 × 10-11 kg/(N·m), respectively.Meantime, the oxidative wear was dominant in tribological behaviors. In general, the addition of G and MoS2 could make the grains of Fe-20Cu-based self-lubricating friction materials more refined, which improved the mechanical properties and tribological properties of the friction materials.…”
