Description
Summary:The flora diversity of caatinga biome was related to biophysical and human factors as an indication ofconservation areas. Multicriteria analysis was used to indicate regions with favorable conditions forgreater diversity, through biophysical factors, and regions with less human pressure, based on socioeconomicvariables extracted from agricultural census. The results were compared with inventories offlora, phyto-sociology and biomass. Some biophysical factors showed significant relationships withthe diversity of flora in the caatinga. The areas indicated by these factors were analyzed in conjunctionwith anthropic factors, thus allowing for the identification of potential areas for conservation in theCaatinga biome.
