Description
Summary:The enigmatic title of “The Mutants University” refers both to a place, on the island of Gorée off Dakar, and to an experiment carried by the figures of Roger Garaudy and Léopold Sédar Senghor within an international intellectual network, at the turn of the 1980s. Its story deserves to be known. Some dates, some texts, and some archives found in the course of research, encounters and sometimes by chance, are gathered here to better understand what the project’s ambitions were. And perhaps also to explain its rapid failure.
