Berberova as regards the revival of Masonic secret societies in Russia at the beginning of the XX century, its reasons, and also number and structure of Russian lodges. The conclusion is made that Masonic lodges, according to N. N. Berberova, underwent serious transformations during 1906-1917, and played an important role in political life of the country.
