Description
Summary:The literary works with the type of akidename in Kurdish literature arewidely seen in the literature of theology and they have a history of nearlythree centuries. In line with the historical development of the science ofKalam in Islamic literature in Arabic, Persian and Turkish, writing poems oncredendum/faith has become a literary tradition. Kurdish madrasah scholars alsoparticipated in this tradition by writing works in their mother tongue. AhmedêXanî (17th century) is one of the leading ones among those who produce thatkind of works. Xanî's poetic work titled Akideya İmanê became an exemplary workfor many literary scholars. However, some of the literary scholars have writtenthis type of work in the form of prose.  Akidenames handle the topics of the pillars of the faith;the belief to Allah, angels, holy books, prophets, the doomsday, fate and theJudgement Day. In addition to these topics, some akides were also written aboutthe questions of the science of Kalam such as the miracles of the prophets, saints, the punishment of the grave, and the actions of mortals. In addition to these works written mostly in Kurmanci, there are alsosome works written in Gorani, Sorani, and Zazaki.  It is seen that almosttwenty works of this kind are written in the form of poetry and prose inKurmanci, followed by five akidename in Zazaki, and one in Sorani and Gorani. The vast majority of the poetic akidenames were written in"masnavi" type of verse, however, some of them were written in theform of qasida.
