description The global incidence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is escalating, with AMR now recognized as a significant health threat, ranking among the top ten global health issues. This paper addresses the critical need for effective AMR control and evaluates the government's efforts in line with Health Law Number 36 of 2009, focusing on the role of the POM Agency in managing AMR. Utilizing a normative research approach, this research involves a review of relevant literature and regulations, complemented by qualitative analysis. The findings indicate that the government has endeavored to meet the Health Law’s requirements by implementing a comprehensive, cross-sectoral AMR control strategy through Permenko No. 7/2021, which outlines the National Action Plan for Antimicrobial Control. Additionally, the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency has established AMR control policies through the Decree of the Head of BPOM No. HK.02.02.1.2.03.20.98 of 2020.
