description This article shows how the values that were passed on to children evolved in Spain from 1931 to 1939. Through education and leisure activities, the State and political parties endeavoured to entice children embracing republican ideas and later on antifascist ideas by presenting a biased view of history, or versions of it aimed to influence their judgement. The analysis of the topics and terms that were used illustrates this evolution. The first texts that came from Germany or Russia were soon replaced with texts written by Spanish authors who adopted a politicized discourse combining fiction and reality.
