| Summary: | Development in the socioeconomic perspective continues to be a need for considerable portion ofthe Brazilian population and the recent experience and the context of a globalized economy,doesn t offer encouraging perspectives in this field. The socio-cultural dynamics of the presentdemands that also in the local level the development needs are rethought to consider the varioussocial sectors that live in a territorial space. Concrete experiences of search for alternatives canbe observed in various parts of the world, seeking to solve such problems as unemployment andothers of social, economic, political and cultural spheres and of environmental preservation, inthe perspective of the local needs and seeking to lessen the difficult life conditions of marginalizedsocial sectors. In this article concepts and practices that seek to qualify those experiences arediscussed. We analyze the perspective of Local Development (DL) in the context of participatoryMunicipal Administrations (GM) in terms of the process of construction of citizenship and ofdevelopment. |
