Summary:Up till now various user studies were made to show the information needs and the information use habits of the industrial firms. With the same objective, a user survey is realized in the Turkish textile industry. The research, that has been done in Turkey and other world countries show that users does not know the presence of information sources and/or channels and the information needed is retrieved randomely or with difficulty. However, there is a very important relationship between the comprehension of the importance of information for the fulfilment of industrial activities and establishment and use of information sources / channels and/or information centers.
