Summary:In this paper,an energy absorption structure of multi cell aluminum profiles for metro vehicles is proposed,which has the advantages of simple form and low cost.Through the combination of experiment and numerical simulation,the characteristics of the structure on energy absorption are studied.The experimental results show that the energy absorption capacity of the structure is stable,and the crushing force is not sensitive to the change of impact velocity.The relationship between the crushing force and the yield strength,the wall thickness of the multi cell aluminum profile is approximately linear.
