In the lower reaches of the Pechora River, flooding of residential buildings is observed in 32 settlements with 1% of the passage of the spring fl ood. At the same time, 29 settlements are already subject to flooding for 50% of the security of the spring flood. The Pechora River characteristic feature is very big volumes of spring flood in the process of which a considerable portion of the floodplain is in the flood zone. To solve the problem of flooding, it is necessary to develop a set of flood prevention measures. A characteristic feature of the water body under consideration is very large volumes of spring flooding, during its passage a significant part of the floodplain is in the flooding zone.
