description Considering the slipping boundary conditions, the limiting shear stress model and the line contact elastohydrodynamic lubrication model are established, the lubricant interfacial slip velocity is deduced and the fluid-lubricated Reynolds equation is modified. The lubrication state of the journal bearing after interfacial modification is explored. Firstly, the change of the lubrication state of the bearing in the entire contact zone after the modification on both the bearing and the journal interface is analyzed. Secondly, the influence of the modification on either the bearing or the journal is studied respectively. Finally, the influence of modification on the friction coefficient of the bearing, and the change of friction coefficient with load and speed is discussed. The results show that under the condition of elastohydrodynamic lubrication, when the interface both the bearing and the journal are modified at the same time, the oil film will form a dimple in the inlet area and collapse in the outlet area; when the shaft interface is modified, the depression will be formed in the entire contact area and the corresponding pressure will increase accordingly. On the contrary, when the interface of the bearing pad is modified, the thickness of the oil film is reduced and the pressure is reduced. After the surface modification treatment, the friction coefficient decreases with the increase of load and velocity.
