description In order to solve the problem of lower voltage at the terminal of feeding section of Yi-Wan electrified railway, the main reasons are theoretically analyzed. The method of installing dynamic reactive power compensation device in the terminal of feeding section is proposed for improving the grid voltage, and superiority of the method is discussed. The compensation device is composed of thyristor phased reactor (TCR) and fixed capacitor compensation device (FC). The theories, functional characteristics and implementation strategies of the device are discussed. Operation results show that the terminal voltage of feeding section is raised by 2.5 kV, and the power factor can be kept above 0.99.
