A first consequence of the crisis-strategic management report within a company is a need for its coherent strategic approach that would ensure the possibility of exceeding the current context and ensuring the necessary performance in the tough competition to follow. In this context, a relevant strategic segmentation of the portfolio of activities of the company and its analysis are essential initial aspects of this work. In this article based on research conducted in several national and international companies we will adress the key issues of strategic segmentation, identifying the errors to be avoided.
