Summary: | Objective:To explore the effect of modified Yi Jin Jing on improving sleep in elderly patients with sleep disorders and to compare the effect of modified Yi Jin Jing on sleep quality of the elderly in different age groups, so as to provide theoretical and experimental evidence for elderly rehabilitation of sleep disorders in communities. Methods:A total of ninety-two elderly people with sleep disorders in Shanghai community were divided into experimental group (modified Yi Jing Jing group) and control group according to the community. The subjects were divided into the elder group and the younger age group by age, with 23 cases in each group. Both groups received 12 weeks'health education. In addition, the experimental group regularly conducted the excise of modified Yi Jin Jing for at least 12 weeks. The sleep quality and quality of life were measured with PSQI and SF-36 before and after intervention. Results:After intervention, the scores of PSQI, sleep quality factor, sleep efficiency factor, sleep disturbance factor and so on were reduced in the experimental elderly group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05).The scores of PSQI, sleep quality factor, sleep time factor, sleep efficiency factor and sleep disorder factor were reduced in the experimental younger group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05).The difference of PSQI total score, sleep time score, sleep efficiency score, PCS and MCS score before and after intervention in the experimental group was statistically significant (P<0.05) compared with the control group. It was suggested that the improvement of PSQI total score, sleep time score, sleep efficiency score, PCS and MCS score were significantly different from those in the control group. Conclusion:Modified Yi Jin Jing has a positive effect on improving sleep status and quality of life in elderly people with sleep disorders. |
