Description
Summary:This paper presents a general and systematic approach for geometric error simulation modeling of machine tools due to the geometric errors arising from manufacturing and assembly, the error averaging mechanism of the linear feed system is investigated by using this method. Firstly, a finite element model of a double-guideway four-slider feeding system is established based on the spring unit method. Secondly, the influence of guideways geometric errors on the error averaging effect is analyzed. Finally, the analysis includes the effects of feed system structural parameters on the error averaging coefficient. Through sensitivity analysis, the influence weights of these parameters on the error averaging effect are determined. The result shows that (1) the error averaging effect of the feed system is mainly influenced by the y-direction straightness error of the guideway, and (2) increasing the preload of the rolling element can effectively reduce the pose error of the worktable.
