Description
Summary:Relevance. Describing the system of strategic management, it is necessary to refer to the fundamental scientific principles that are universal and find their application in various fields of knowledge. In particular, the principles of comprehensiveness and systematicity are particularly important here. However, to date in the scientific literature the methods of strategic management are studied in a fragmented manner, which negatively affects the implementation of managerial decisions and analytical actions, as well as does not allow forming the necessary and sufficient theoretical and methodological basis of strategic management. Aim. To systematize the methods of strategic management described in the scientific literature. Methods. Generalization, document analysis, comparative analysis, data synthesis. Results. The authors have analyzed consistently the possibilities of application of structural‐functional and substantive approaches to the description of strategic management system. It is shown that the substantive approach is more suitable for describing the strategic management system. The authors proposed the models of the strategic management process and systematization of methods in the strategic management cycle. Conclusions. The developed schemes not only organize the already existing information about the methods and techniques used in strategic management, but also create a basis for further research in the field of generalization and systematization of the theory and practice of strategic management.
