Description
Summary:This article presents a method for temperature monitoring in microchannels. A microfluidic platform was designed for temperature sensing. The variation in fluorescence intensity emitted by a sample marked with rhodamine B, whose fluorescence strongly depends on temperature, was monitored. A microfluidic device with a copper insert capable of inducing a temperature gradient in the fluid flowing through a microchannel, by passing a current intensity through the insert, was constructed. It was found that the recorded fluorescence intensity profiles are consistent with the expected temperature gradients. The method proved to be efficient for implementation in more complex platforms.
