Summary:Direct-drive wind turbines take a large share of wind power markets, in particular offshore wind power because of its simple structure, so that its fault diagnosis caused by adverse circumstances become research highlights. It discussed the structure of directdrive wind turbines firstly, analyzed the transfer mechanism from fault vibration signal to fault current signal and summarized the common faults and the characteristic frequency of fault current of direct-drive wind turbine. Finally, the current signal of wind turbine was analyzed by HHT transform, which could be accurate and efficient to diagnosis the faults such as bearing oil film eddy failure, rotor imbalance and stator winding fault.
