| Summary: | The recent creation of an association of farmers who have fallen victim to pesticides attests to new sense of commitment by certain professionals who had traditionally operated outside of the field within which health at work mobilisation usually occurs. Although the farmers’ mobilisation may seem at odds with their earlier practices, it still allows them to cast a light on the specific domination issues characterising this sector and creating resistance to any real attempt to publicise pesticides as an issue. It also prevents the opic from being deemed a fully-fledged health at work issue. Thanks, however, to efforts made to collectivise such experiences and the damage they cause, the grouping of victims seems to have successful in launching a real collective strategy for the denunciation of problems of this nature. Farmers who are victims of pesticides appear to have become major players in pesticide-related awareness exercises. They therefore constitute a new player in the field of health at work. |
