description | According to the specialized literature, the selection process in handball is represented by a rather complex system and requires new approaches from coaches based on the current and modern requirements of this team sport. Thus, the aim of this study is to identify a battery of tests that assess the current essential motor components of female handball players and to verify their level of development in a handball team. The tests used to evaluate the motor skills of handball players were the T-reaction test, which assesses complex reaction speed at the upper limb level, the Squat Jump, CMJ, and FJ tests, which assess the explosive strength ofthe lower limbs, the 4 Jumps test, which evaluates agility and execution speed, and a test to evaluate the strength of the palm flexors. The subjects of the research were 21 amateur female handball players aged 10±1 years who practice handball at an amateur level. We identified a series of tests in the specialized literature that we applied to the subjects of this research, and the results obtained showed a good level of development of the motor qualities evaluated among the athletes, as well as differences between the right and left limbs regarding the strength of the palm flexors. |
