description Background and Objective: Study skills and learning styles are two effective factors in student's learning and academic performance. This study determined students' study skills and learning styles at Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences. Methods: This cross-sectional study was done on 257 Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences students. method of sampling was based on the number of students in each faculty; we applied a simple random sampling method to choose samples from them. Findings: 75% of students had average study skills and 13% had poor study skills. The relationship between the average score of study skills with gender, grade point average, and type of faculty was not significant, but married students with an average score of 133.52 had significantly higher scores than single students with an average score of 121.61 (P=0.001). Married students had higher scores than single students in the reading textbooks (with an average score of 21 and P=0.023), note-taking (with an average score of 13.41 and P=0.002), memory enhancement (with an average score of 25.25 and P=0.001) and time management (with an average score of 14.94 and P=0.005). The preferred learning style of students respectively was convergent (37.4%), absorbing (28.4%), adaptive (8.2%), and divergent (3.9%). Also, about 22.2% of students combined two or more learning styles. No significant relationship was found between learning styles and gender, grade point average, and type of faculty. Conclusion: Most of the students of Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences had average study skills, which considering the better study conditions of married students, it seems marriage is an effective item in this issue by creating peace. The dominant learning style of the studied students was convergent and absorbing.
