Summary:The digital economy has dramatically reduced the gap between countries, making online shopping more convenient and accessible. The trend of cross-border trade has exploded in many countries, including Vietnam. This trend has led to a significant increase in cross-border shopping, allowing consumers to choose from a wide range of products worldwide. The convenience and endless options cross-border e-commerce offers have made it a popular topic among researchers. This study aims to analyze the academic literature related to cross-border trade comprehensively. By thoroughly examining current research perspectives, the study provides an overview of the current state of research in this field and suggests potential future research directions. The study utilized a bibliometric approach, analyzing 394 articles on “cross-border e-commerce” from the Web of Science database, updated to July 2024. The study identified 07 main topic groups that have captured the interest of scientists. Furthermore, the study revealed that future research will likely focus on leveraging digital technology to optimize supply chains and predict consumer trends in international trade.
