description | In the profusion of the first discourses on techniques, it is often difficult to distinguish between what constitutes imagination and what constitutes ideological projection. In this article, we have chosen to focus on the first discussion on the Internet. In order to more accurately reflect contemporary discussions on techniques, we will put them into perspective by confronting them with past discourses on communication from a distance. The 19th century, often cited as the « founder » of telecommunications techniques, will be our point of reference in approaching the first press discussions in French on the Internet. |
