| Summary: | The Ministry of Culture and Tourism offers a variety of career possibilities to graduates of the Department of Information and Document Management who are being appointed to government jobs for the first time, opportunities available through units’ central organization as well as in regional organizations. Graduates of the Department of Information and Document Management are employed in public libraries, children’s libraries, literature museum libraries, manuscript libraries, and in the National Library of Turkey. The quota for Culture and Tourism Expert Assistant and Manuscripts Expert Assistant are allocated to the Department of Information and Document Management together with other relevant departments. For the position of contracted archive specialist, graduates of the Department of Information and Document Management have begun employment in 2013. In addition to this, librarians may apply for declared civil service positions, and if they are successful in the exam, they can be appointed to positions. As nation-wide public institutions, public libraries provide librarians with career opportunities different from other areas of the librarianship. |
