Description
Summary:The interaction between cytoplasmic and nuclear genomes significantly influences the development of reproductive structures and the formation of viable pollen in potato, which holds considerable agronomic importance. Recent studies have focused on identifying cytoplasm types in potato germplasm collections worldwide, including those from Russia. In this study, 50 potato accessions were evaluated for pollen fertility, revealing both sterile plants and those with varying degrees of pollen viability. All accessions were genotyped using a panel of molecular markers (A, T, Sac, D, S, P3, Alm6/7), allowing for the classification of their cytoplasm and mitochondrial genome types.
