| Summary: | Sport plays an increasingly important role in the life of modern man, whether we exercise to maintain our health,
or we relate to it as a source of entertainment.
Football is a billion-euro industry. Tennis, basketball, American football, baseball, golf or handball are also very
popular, attracting investment accordingly. The sport has hundreds of millions of followers worldwide, followers that
"need" to be monetized.
In the paper "Regenerating the fan base in conditions of low sports performance" initially presented what the term fan
implies and its financial and emotional implications on teams or athletes, then we presented some methods by which a
regeneration of the fan base can be effectively achieved when there are weaker periods from the point of view of results,
and in the last part a small study based on the topic analysed in this article is presented. |
