Description
Summary:This article is based on an ethnographic study conducted among female students enrolled in vocational high school programs in care and personal services for people and communities (bac pro SAPAT), which predominantly recruit young women from working-class backgrounds. It focuses on the dynamics of family socialization that, in this context, are primarily transmitted through the female line. These socializing dynamics are expressed, on the one hand, through specific forms of family engagement in schooling, and on the other, through domestic socialization practices that primarily involve girls. These experiences help us better understand how these students appropriate their training through a dual, non-contradictory lens : that of vocation and that of competence.
