Summary:As the first stop at libraries and info-centers, reference services are considered open-and closed-office environments. In this study, Hacettepe University Beytepe Library’s closed-office reference services and Bilkent University Central Library’s open-office reference services are evaluated in accordance with user satisfaction surveys, librarian opinions and reference service standards. In light of the results, the advantages and disadvantages of the two reference services are presented and the design of a new model to minimize the disadvantages is offered.
