Description
Summary:The paper presents examples of phrasemes, taken from a Soviet newspaper “Głos Radziecki” from 1939. The author analysed phrasemes which are loanwords from the Ukrainian or Russian languages. For the comparative analysis the author used the dictionary of the Polish, Ukrainian and Russian languages and also phraseological or historical dictionaries. The article presents specific qualities of Polish language in USSR. Some of the borrowings had structural or semantic character, moreover they were an adaptation or a literal translation of a foreign phrase, but sometimes there were also contaminations of several elements. Most of them were characteristic only of the Soviet Polish language presented in the local Soviet press.
