| Summary: | This article is the continuation of a thesis entitled « Outer-urban restructurings of the metropolitan areas and emergence of new polarities » (2005). Through the example of the project « Porte des Alpes » in Lyon (France), this work questions the capacity of peripheral economic sectors to be invested by local governments as the supports of major urban area projects. What is the capacity of some of these marginal spaces, which did not originally take into account questions of infrastructures durability and urban insertion, to go towards a perspective of durable integration in the city which henceforth joined them? A durable city which brings to operate a change of glance and scale on these spaces, tends to become strategic and participates to the redefinition of local governance frames. |
