Description
Summary:Objective: to evaluate schoolchildren´s knowledge before and after educational intervention using an educational blog about the person with disability. Methods: quantitative study with 74 students participating. Knowledge test was applied. Mean and standard deviation of ages was calculated. McNemar test was used comparing pretest and posttest and Wilcoxon test compared means and medians. Results: after the blog, there was increase of hits in the posttest. Statistical significance was observed in the variables: public and private school (p=0.001); female and male (p=0.001); groups of 13 to 14 years old (p=0.001) and 15 to 18 years old (p=0.001). Issues related to visual and auditory impairmentand history and citizenship were less successful in the pretest than the posttest (p=0.001). Questions about visual and auditory impairment, history and citizenship (p=0.001) improved the proportion of correct answers after the intervention. Conclusion: educational blog application promoted increased knowledge of schoolchildren about the person with a disability.
