description With development of minimal invasive colectomy and improvement surgical devices as well as surgeon’s experience which was leading to better tissue dissection, hemostasis and more reliable anastomosis the concept of ambulatory colectomy evolved. In addition to mentioned factors using ERAS protocols were also associated with early discharging patients as previously demonstrated. Systematic review of current reports about ambulatory colectomies showed interesting results; overall morbidity is 14%, Readmission rate is 5% and reoperation rate is 1% . As colorectal surgeon facing these magics data remind me the magic rate of success with fistula surgery using fistula plug and subsequent unplug effect. With reviewing the evidences number of reports from different centers that turning for regular colectomies to day care colectomy are increasing but colorectal surgeons should have especial attention to some issues prior to setting up this setting. In this issue I mention some of evidences and critic some data regarding previous experiences.
