Summary:Since XVI century the important bearer of Russian influence in the North Caucasus were Grebensky and Tersky (local) Cossacks. Their emergence began in lower reaches of Sunzha and Terek in the XV-XVI centuries. Everyday life features of Grebensky and Tersky (local) Cossacks are specified: economic and agricultural for the former and traditional for the latter. It should be noted that it did not interfere with their main task -protection of interests and the southern boundaries of Russia.
