Summary:Improving the quality of on-grid solar power has attracted worldwide attention in recent years due to the natural intermittent and instability of solar irradiance. As an emerging technology, the photovoltaic/concentrated solar power (PV-CSP) hybrid technology is considered as one of the research focuses currently in solar energy field, due to various advantages compared with the PV-alone and CSP-alone technologies. This paper introduced PV, CSP technologies, and PV-CSP hybrid technology. Through the attention to the construction and operation of some typical commercial PV-CSP hybrid power plants, the application status of commercial PV-CSP hybrid power plants was analyzed, and the technical and economic research of PV-CSP hybrid system in recent years was summarized.
