Description
Summary:This study explores the role of smart transportation systems in promoting sustainable urban mobility within BRICS countries—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. It investigates the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), the development of smart public transportation infrastructure, and the impact of urban mobility policies on reducing traffic congestion and carbon emissions. Using qualitative research methods, including interviews with stakeholders from each BRICS nation, the study identifies key challenges such as infrastructure gaps, financial constraints, and public awareness. It also highlights the potential for technological innovation and regional collaboration to overcome these barriers. The findings underscore the importance of government policies, investments in smart technologies, and public education in facilitating the transition toward more sustainable urban transportation in BRICS countries.
