Summary: | The Jingjiang section at the middle reaches of the Yangtze River is connected toDongting Lake, the second largest freshwater lake in China through three-outlet channels, forminga complex relationship between rivers and lakes. At the same time, the application of the ThreeGorges Project has changed the water and sediment process of the Jingjiang section. As far as theupper and lower reaches of there-outlet entrance are concerned, the water and sediment conditionsalong the river are not consistent, leading to some differences in the evolution characteristicsof the riverbed. To this end, this paper divides the Jingjiang Riverinto four river sections withthe three-outlet entrance as the boundary, summarizes the water and sediment characteristics ofeach river section from 2002 to 2017, calculates the erosion and sedimentation amount and theaverage annual erosion intensity of each river section, and obtains the water depth, river widthand area of the flat beach in each reach based on the calculation method of the flat beach channelmorphology. The analysis results show that the overall changes on width of the flat beaches in thefour river sections during the study period is small; and except for the Zhicheng-Songzi riversection, the water depth of the flat bench continues to increase, and the river bed continues todeepen. |
