| description | This paper is based on the analysis of interviews conducted among senior high schools students in Santiago, Chile (September 2011 and 2012). Drawing from the categories used by the young interviewees themselves to account for their struggle, this article aims at analyzing the major student movement taking place in Chile at the moment. It focuses on the following themes: “loss of fear”, a fight for equality between human beings that goes beyond mere students claims, the significance of the notion of “person” eliding that of “citizen”. The question of the possible emergence of new collectives subjects, forty years after the fall of the Popular Unity goverment, is thus raised. |
