| description | Objective To analyze the effect of training of full-time educator for the management of chronic respiratory diseases, and to investigate the standardized training methods and improvement strategies for the following training of full-time educator for the management of chronic respiratory diseases. Methods Two rounds of expert consultation were conducted to determine the outline, model and contents of training. The training program consisted of two parts: one-week theoretical study and 6-month clinical practice. All the nurses involved in the training had taken the exams about theoretical knowledge and practice skills of management of chronic respiratory diseases. A questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate nurses’ satisfaction with training program. Results The outcome of investigation on knowledge about chronic respiratory diseases showed that an increased score was achieved after training(74. 60±6. 70 vs. 59. 83±12. 50, P＜0. 01 ). The Pass rate of theoretical examination was 98. 75%(79/80). The overall satisfaction rate was 98. 75%(79/80). Conclusion The well-designed training program is effective to improve the quality of training for the full-time educator specialized in the management of chronic respiratory diseases.
