A survey method by identification typology of the urban forest and forest tree species was carried out in Yogyakarta city. The suitability of each tree species in the urban forest was assessed by habitat evaluation and from literature study. The results show that urban forest types in Yogyakarta consist of species conservation, recreation, and protection. The shapes of the urban forest are clumped and lines.
