description The constitutional proclamation of these maxims meant that a new judicial order would be implemented. Our research addresses the study of the organigram of Justice in Spain, from the proclamation of the Constitution of 1812 to the start of Isabel II’s reign. The Pyramidal structure that was established in this period, which situated the Supreme Court at the apex and unified the intermediary courts with territorial Audiences. On the basis of this structure, district judges would share an important role with city mayors in this first level of the Justice system. The city mayor was a complex figure with respect to sharing judicial and executive powers. Over time, legislation would try to address this clear misrepresentation, by first reducing the participation of these local authorities in the administration of Justice and then later eliminating it.
