Results
1. According to the respondents, a mediator should be patient according to 21.1% of people, and empathetic in action according to 20% and inspire trust in 18.4% of the respondents, the hypothesis was partially confirmed.
2. According to 28% of the respondents, it is the ability to resolve conflicts, the hypothesis was confirmed.
3. A school mediator can properly maintain mediation documentation. According to 47.5% of respondents, the most important skill of a school mediator is maintaining mediation documentation, the hypothesis was confirmed.
4. According to 53.3% of respondents, clothing is important in the work of a school mediator, the hypothesis was confirmed.
5. According to 25.6% of respondents, a non-verbal message important in the work of a school mediator is eye contact. 23.1% of respondents would pay attention to voice intonation, the hypothesis was confirmed.
6. When choosing a mediator, 39% of the survey participants would pay attention to the attitude and personality of the mediator, the hypothesis was not confirmed.
Conclusions
The conducted research shows that both personality traits and his skills, competences, body language play a very important role in the mediation process in the opinion of students of pedagogy. Therefore, preparation for the profession of a school mediator seems to be crucial, in connection with the above, it seems reasonable to undertake further research indicating what type of actions should be taken when educating future school mediators in order to [prepare them for this responsible role |
