Summary:This study was conducted to put forward innovation perspective, perception and awareness level of the public library staff in Ankara about the concept of developing innovative services. Population of the study is comprised of staff working in public libraries in Ankara (administrators, librarians, civil servants, professionals, technicians, workers, etc.). A questionnaire consisting of three sections was used within the scope of the study. The 54 library staff working in Adnan Ötüken Provincial Public Library, Ayaş, Güdül County Public Libraries, Cebeci, Or-An Sevgi Yılı Public Libraries and Mehmet Akif Ersoy Literature Museum Library gave feedback to the questionnaire. Since the results obtained were not generalizable, they were evaluated in terms of six libraries reporting feedback to the study. As a result of study, it was understood that level of perception and awareness of library staff participated to study about innovation and innovative services are low, participant groups have different perspectives towards innovation and innovative services and service training about innovation is required. In this context, about innovativeness, creation, development, dissemination of this awareness and adoption of library staff with written policy is argued.
