Description
Summary:Preserving the crops seeds is very important procedure to the farmers and breeders. Because it’sreducing the contamination of these seeds with the aflatoxin during the post and pre harvest the crops. The Current study was carried out in October 2019, in the crop production department, Agriculturalresearch center in Sulaymaniyah province. Fifteen Kg of local wheat (Slemani) was provided fromthe crop science department. Five levels of garlic powder was used (0, 2, 5, 10, 15)% to find suitableconcentration during the storage seed. The samples were taken for in three times (1 day, 6 months, and 18 months) to test the seed contamination with toxins and calculate the seed germination. Ourresult show there is significant effect (p<0.05) of adding garlic powder with 15 concentrations on theT2 toxin. In conclusion its possible to use the garlic powder with 15% for reducing the effect of toxinin storage wheat seeds.
