| Summary: | Within the actual context of the « pays »’s return and their legal acknowledgment, we’re witnessing the apparition of new territories allowing themselves the concept in a rather informal way. Being part of the agglomeration, those areas are located between dense urban centres and rural places, using this transitional identity as a way to difference themselves to other borders. Illustrated by the case of Lille Metropole northwest border, the article shows how these territories assert themselves as « pays » on both localization and border limits level as well as acknowledging the territories’s values. |
