Description
Summary:Abstract As a part of the ‘e-Cicero’ research project (directed by prof. Clara Auvray-Assayas), a digital critical edition of Cicero’s Timaeus is forthcoming. Next to a new French translation, this edition includes a Latin-Greek synopsis with notes, as well as a basic Latin-Greek lexicon. This paper aims to present an example of the kind of research that electronic resources can facilitate. The selected case study is the lexicon of causality, with reference to the terms causa and culpa as a translation of αἰτία, αἴτιον and ἀρχή and compounds.   Keywords Cicero; Timaeus; Platonism; Causality; Digital Critical Edition.
