Description
Summary:The article deals with philosophical, ideological, ethical and aesthetic aspects of the poetry of M.Y. Lermontov and A.S Pushkin. These aspects were expressed in their similar interpretation of deep humanistic spirit and mission of poetry, and in the development of the theme of a poet-prophet. The paper shows that addressing the theme of prophecy the poets highlighted the tragedy of human existence, which was presented in the form of a demon personifying evil world. At the same time they raised the question of the possibility of overcoming this tragedy while elucidating the truth of life, which is the mission of a poet-prophet.
