Description
Summary:The production of the military elite in Madagascar has got several influences. Sixty years after independence, it is interesting to question the construction of the post-colonial Malagasy army. The peregrinations of the officer cadets, which largely included a multi-secular European influence, provided traditions, know-how and above all a modernity that made the Malagasy army a national army from the pre-colonial period. As this long history is difficult to unravel, local influences and the socialist period have difficulty in anchoring their contributions, creating various frustrations between several groups of officers trained elsewhere.
